The South Asia Biosafety Conference (SABC) is the most highly anticipated gathering of scientists, regulators, policy makers and other stakeholders interested in modern biotechnology, environmental and food safety assessment, and biosafety regulation in South Asia. The 7th SABC will be held at the Westin Dhaka from 14-16 September 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. SABC is co-organized by the ILSI Research Foundation and Biotech Consortium India Ltd under the auspices of the USAID-funded South Asia Biosafety Program, with cooperation from many regional partners.
The agenda for SABC2019 includes plenary sessions on: Biosafety Regulation in South Asia; Rationalizing Risk Assessment and Regulation of Low Risk Activities; Biotechnology Research and Development in South Asia; Planning and Permitting Field Trials for Novel Organisms; and Public Sector GE Crop Development and Deployment.
